Once I had a dream...

ONCE I HAD A DREAM....

More then 20 years ago I heard someone talking about the road to Santiago del Compostella.

I became curieus and try to find out what that was. And I found out that people could make a pilgrimage and walk from their home to 'meet' St. Jacob.

En route they could think about life, their struggle in life, the sweet moments they had and about their relations they have withe everyone around them. And hopefully you could find yourself on the way to Santiago.

My Life was full of struggle and I never had the feeling I belong. But that wasn't enough to make me to the trip.

'Cause I've been brought up with lots of responsibilities I never could untight me of the live I lived. I couldn't leave my family, my friends my work , my cats and later on my Son.

And then I got a divorce but before I knew it I had a new relation. And more responsibilities for more kids and a dog.

And then I got Ill.......I couldn't move, walk, work and every bone in my body ached.... So after 4 years of fighting the pain I had give up to all my dreams. With rest en living my life as the 80 year olds do: I had given up.  The last thing was my operation last year because I also had a torn meniscus.

And then I got angry. Everyone around me was doing what they always liked and I only had done what people had expected me to do...... SO NOW ME !!!!

I'm practicing to go on a bike (!) to Santiago. No, not the whole trip  in one vacation. I'm doing the first part next month. That will be my first VICTORY.

I hope I find  enough help, support and friends on my way to santiago.:D

Preparing for Santiago.

We zullen er 2 of 3 x een vakantie aan besteden.
We will spend 2 or 3 holidays to end the trip, because my health isn't that good.....
